![]() But the fact that somehow they managed to r e d u c e overall stability, like errors and crashes I never, e v e r saw in 5, and the fact that theres consensus it was actually better at some other point in time makes it frustrating. Like, civ has always been one of those games that was really marked by the modding experience, just like rimworld and minecraft, and I was really late getting onto the civ 6 train as I always stuck to 5, but all the nuances added here seemed worth my time. I wouldn't say modders are trying to "break the game" like Maya implies, but its just the fact that they make it so hard to actually improve the experience for ourselves in some regards. Thats the issue, from everything I'm reading the game was actually more stable in a previous state. One would not expect the stability to goes down as much with new patches, usually it's the opposite. Now, since the gathering Storm patch it's highly unstable at size larger than 128x80, not one test finished in dozen of autoplay runs. Rock stable, full game, all civs, all CS, with multiple auto-play tests I've started modding the game at release in 2016 and it was rock stable at 230x116 map size. It's not the developers fault, if the moders and players decide to actively break the games or the game engines limits. ![]() Originally posted by Maya:They didn't launched a DLCs to intentionally break mods. ![]() Thanks though, I'll try everything out and see if i can salvage my run I was in a kinda conquering mood, and the quality noticeably dropped after I revealed a large portion of my home continent. Good luck thing is, the game crashed before I had launched any satellites. If you're also using custom map sizes make sure to disable satellite map reveal, as that can cause crash, and I've also heard rising ocean levels causing problems on custom map sizes. Originally posted by VRAD:Pretty much same situation, I've scoured through my modding, lua, and database logs to adjust any issues(I recommend you do the same if you haven't) and while my crashes aren't as frequent since I've fixed some errors, I still receive frequent crashes in mid-late game on modded large maps. It also was nowhere near as helpful as that worker fix. Just change True to False on Line #534 - like this bCanStart, tResults = UnitManager.CanStartOperation(pUnit, actionHash, nil, tParameters, false) "īesides that, I've read disabling the High Resolution Geometry option helped people with crashes, and I can say that seemed to have helped me but at the time I also turned down a couple other settings, so can't confirm. (( Location = SidMeierCiv6./Base/Assets/UI/Panels/!-Here-! )) there IS a temporary workaround fix which involves a quick edit of the vanilla a file. Is there anything, a n y t h i n g that can be done to help save the performance, without me just having to toss out the hope of playing on large maps altogether? I've got like 24 gigs of ram available to my computer, so I can assume ram isn't the issue here. ![]() Normally I wouldn't be frustrated, but I actually got deep into this run and the sudden drop in quality just killed it for me. It freezes to let builders build, it freezes when I send units to a certain tile, it freezes jumping to show a city's production. Sure, it might be too many floods and disasters and what not, but the dip in performance is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crippling, beyond even lag where just out of nowhere the game straight freezes, blanks, and then either decides to teleport to the location of a builder or just do nothing altogether. I've got a ♥♥♥♥ ton of mods downloaded, but I am 99.9% certain my game keeps crashing because of the map size playing as china in the information era. So, for this I really tried looking for support, seeing posts all the way back to 2016 on this, genuinely hoping theres a fix for it. ![]()
